The other day, I was driving in Chandigarh. Although the City Beautiful is a Well-planned city, however, the roads have a tinge of Overcrowding, during the peak hours. Gradually, the Traffic leaks on the roads and the roads become ‘Solitary’, after some time. Yet, there are certain areas of Opportunities. There are 2(or more) Round Abouts where Traffic Lights are also installed, i.e. Sec35-34-21-22, etc. Honestly, it is very difficult to drive around these round abouts.

If the Traffic lights are installed, then why so much space (Consumed by mammoth Round About) is wasted?

The same space, when vacated, would be utilized by the Ever-growing traffic. Definitely, it would help in reducing the traffic congestion (around these round abouts) by a considerable amount.

Also, some other steps should be taken for the Long run. A Mass Public Transport System (Metro, Mono-Rail, Electric Trolley, etc) should be started. More Sub- ways and Fly overs should be constructed. A Sophisticated system of local and outstation Buses, Cabs, Autos and Rickshaws, should be evolved. The rush in the Sectors like 17, 22, 35, etc should be decentralized and shared among the Southern Sectors like 41, 42, etc. It would be achieved by fabricating Tourists Spots (multi-plexus, malls, eateries, Hotels, Offices, Libraries, etc) in the Southern Sectors.

Last of all, awareness should be spread among the public.

Accidents have taken the lives of many innocent persons.

So, let us promise to abide by the Traffic rules as these are meant for our Safety, only.
